WHAT ARE THE LAWS FOR RENTERS IN GEORGIA?

What have been the laws if we have been the renter? I am vital in the rented townhouse, as well as have had the upkeep emanate for utterly the whilst which has been abandoned for 6 months. (Semi-serious) Can I mangle my franchise (and still get my deposit)? Do I need to get the lawyer? Or should I hang it out til November?

Depends alot on what the maintenance issue is.

If it makes the home uninhabitable then yes. But, to keep yourself safe you would need to get a building inspector to come and independently say the home is uninhabitable. In most places there are local numbers to call for these types of violations.

Also, if it is a violation of your lease terms then yes. You need to notify him in writing that the violation occurred (send it registered mail) and he has a reasonable time to correct it before you vacate. Every judge will see reasonable differently. If that time expires the landlord broke the lease and you are free to vacate.

Send the landlord a certified letter stating that if they do not fix the problem within 10 days, you will have it fixed yourself and deduct the cost of repairs from your rent. Don’t break your lease because you don’t have grounds to do that and will lose both the lawsuit and your deposit.
