IS THERE ANY LAWS THAT FORBIDS SCHOOLS FROM DENYING A STUDENT THE RIGHT TO HAVE A CLUB IN SCHOOL?

I am the boss of the chritian bar during Clovis high. My propagandize is requiring all clubs to experience in sure propagandize programs. One specific module is called fusion, though conjunction I nor my partner have had time to assistance out. Because it’s compulsory we’re disturbed they competence close the bar down. If any one knows of any laws forbiding schools to close down tyro clubs, we would severely conclude if we would share which report with is. Thank you.

Nope.

The school has full authority to regulate anything that happens on school grounds. You can continue your club elsewhere, but they can certainly shut down a club that violates school rules.

There are no such laws. The school has the right to regulate school sponsored clubs and can allow or disallow whatever they want without repercussions of the law with exceptions to protected discrimination classes. This would not be the case here and the school would have every right to shut your club down.

I don’t know of any specific law governing school clubs, but it’s been ruled time and time again that students do not have the same rights as the general public. Freedom of speech in schools has often been curtailed from what they can wear to what they can print in their own newspapers. Sad, but true. Don’t get me started on how we can call our students citizens but then strip away their rights.

Anyway, my best suggestion would be to talk the powers that be in your school to see how your club can work something out to comply with rules for school clubs but not screw up your other commitments.

from what you’ve described, the school is not denying a student the right to have a club. the school has set rules that apply equally to all clubs and that’s perfectly OK.

Schools can shut down clubs but they should have a good reason. There is no reason for them to shut down your club. There is no legal reason you can’t have a Christian Club if it is student run. If it was run by school staff then there might be a problem (even though there is no constitutional grounds for it).

The school has a right to require that clubs obey the rules. If your club doesn’t want to follow the rules, then there’s no reason why the school should allow your club to continue to exist on the school. Nobody is singling out your club. You have the choice of either following the rules or being shut down.

Having a club is not a right, it’s a privilege.
