and jobs!

In one word, Yes.

They are. When a business leavs a state like California, it’s not going to New York State, you know…

Bub July 3, 2011 at 6:05 pm

Probably not. It’s not like there are tons of business’s that are sitting out right now because of some labor unions.

TheOrange Evil July 3, 2011 at 6:49 pm

Of course. Why would any business owner want higher taxes, more regulations, and more impediments? Not every business can be moved, but many would be.

Not really, Colorado has had one for a long time and our unemployment rate mirrors the rest of the nation.

Which state is Mexico in ? The states with right – to – enslave laws are no better off than any other .

Yes,look at South Carolina and Boeing vs Washington State and Boeing.

Of course, that is how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. There is a reason you Americans are kept from education.

Um, considering that there are about 25 or so States who have right to work laws including most Southern and Western States and that is where most companies are expanding to I would say that it does work. I am thinking that those who think that manufacturing is going abroad currently is mistaken, it has moved to the South and West where they can live on less and be happy.

cordeliabrainiac July 3, 2011 at 10:40 pm

You would think so. . but . . I live in a right to work state – and Electrolux is holding us up for $92M or they are going to build their factory somewhere else!

And like the other poster, our unemployment rate is the same as the national average.

justagrandma July 3, 2011 at 11:15 pm

There are already right to work laws in many states, that won’t give one an advantage over another.

The manufacturing jobs are less than twelve percent, so its not much of an issue for low or minimum skill people.
If it were up to me, I’d go where the money was, and its not down south or in the southwest.
So they could build it, but they would be getting lower quality people. Its always a two way street, and the best will go for the best money. If that’s union, that’s where they will go.

Understand right to work HAS UNIONS BUT they are voted by the workers AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO JOIN.

YOU DO GET THE BENEFITS for those who FIGHT FOR THEM.

Look at KOCH, no union, they pay their ppl a little of nothing (KS) but the AIR CAPITAL of the world is kansas and they have at least 5 airplane factories WITH UNIONS, they make about HALF AS MUCH.

EVIDENTLY IT HASN’T STOPPED THEM.
