ARE THERE ANY LAWS IN RHODE ISLAND ABOUT LEAVING CHILDREN HOME ALONE?

I wish to stay after propagandize somedays for rehersals though afterwards there would be no a single home to watch my younger brother. He is 9 years aged as well as he would be unsupervised for an hour if this happened. Are there any laws which contend which he is not authorised to be home alone during his age?

Yes there are strict laws about leaving a child under an appropriate age for any extended period of time. You are never suppose to leave a child as young as that unattended for any reason. If you would like to rehearse more, simply ask a friend or pay a sitter that you trust STRONGLY to watch that child.

I’m not aware of any state that has a specific age, because maturity levels vary so much.

The correct thing to do is ask the child a series of questions about situations they may encounter when home alone. The answers to those questions would determine how capable they are.

Where are your parents in this decision? If you’re planning on leaving your brother at home, they need to know about it. Ultimately, they are the ones who are responsible for making sure he’s watched.

Don’t know about Rhode Island but in UK it is 14yrs for Home Alone (but this does not allow fro looking after younger siblings) However, many do it through necessity not choice and the social services know it goes on BUT if someone reports you they are duty bound to investigate and you (your mum) could be prosecuted. Children are different, can you not ask friend to help out for short term and you help her out in return ? Can studio let him sit in reception ? Tough one
