WHAT ARE THE LAWS FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE IN VIRGINIA?

i took my automobile to the automechanic to have the little automatic repairs done. whilst in the shop, i was incompetent to compensate the automobile word as well as it got cancelled. i paid for the repairs. the owners of the emporium took the automobile out for the ostensible “test drive” as well as got in to an collision with it.he was charged with the accident, unwell to produce the right of approach as well as no chair belt. he told me which his commercial operation word would not compensate for it as well as which he would repair it out of pocket. it has been 3 weeks right away as well as i am carrying to compensate for the let vehical, since my vehical is my job. he is refusing to compensate for the let as well as is giving me zero though the run-a-round of excuses as to since my vehical is not fixed. the repairs finished is about $1200. i have talked to lawyers as well as the have been revelation me which it is improved for me to take him to justice myself. since of his negligence, it is causing the finacial as well as romantic aria upon me.

He should have a garagekeepers insurance policy for this type of business and it WILL pay for this damage if he was testing out the repairs. Make a claim with his insurance company. If he doesn’t have insurance, report him to the better business bureau and the state licensing board and have his garage license yanked.

Tell him to loan you a vehicle until your car is fixed. It is only fair.

Unfortunately, It’s a civil issue. You have an excellent case because the vehicle was in his care and he is responsible for it. Unfortunately, unless you file suit, you are bound by the repair contract and it’s conditions.

I would file a civil suit for damages and negligence on his part for recooperation of money spent on the rental and lost work time. This too will cost to file, but it should be a rather easy trial.

hiring a lawyer would only increase your costs and the judge would not likely award lawyers fees as well. The best bet is to document eveything.
